FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Welcome to the Encore Pilates FAQ page! Here, you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about our classes, memberships, private sessions, and more. Whether you're new to Pilates or are a regular participant, we want to ensure you have all the information you need to get the most out of your experience with us. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us directly at 352-612-3372 or at shannon@encore-pilates.com, and we'll be happy to assist you.
We recommend you request a private session (one on one) so that we can review your relevant medical history, areas of concern, and goals. Additionally, we will instruct you in the safety & set-up of the Pilates equipment prior to you starting a group class and recommend which group class might be best for you at this time. However, if you prefer to stay in private sessions, you can. If you have significant orthopedic areas of concern, you can request appointments with the Owner, but if you are relatively healthy and dealing with only minor weakness, inflexibility, or postural concerns, any of the Staff Pilates instructors can easily (and in a more budget-friendly way) get you on the path to Pilates group classes or private sessions.
Great! Unless you prefer a one on one session (private Pilates session), you can start with a Group class. Generally, if you haven’t done Pilates regularly in a while, it’s always best to start in a Level 1 Reformer class. If you find that level too easy and the instructor agrees that your form is strong enough to progress, you can try a Level 1-2 or Level 2 class. Just hop over to the MEMBERSHIP page of our site and select which membership works for you or sign up for a single class from the selection on the CLASSES page of our site.
Once we receive your request, we will approve or deny it. If approved, you will be emailed a separate payment link (check your junk folder!). Due to high demand for appointments, payment is required to secure your appointment slot. Once payment is received, you will receive an email confirmation of your booking (check your junk folder!). If you need to reschedule and we have received your cancelation more than 24 hours in advance, you can apply your payment to a future session. If we deny your appointment request, it simply means that someone else requested the slot before your request. (If multiple requests come in for the same appointment slot, we approve the one submitted first). If your appointment request is denied, you would receive an email asking you to submit an alternate requested appointment time/date. Sometimes it's best to submit more than one request at a time and leave us a note in the request letting us know which one you prefer.
Please wear fitness clothes that allow you to move with ease (without zippers, if possible). Examples: T-shirt, sports bra, compression shorts, shorts with a longer liner, leggings, tank top. Grip Socks are ideal, but not required. Shoes are not required.
We require more than 24 hours notice for cancelations for Private sessions or Group classes. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you forfeit your payment for that class. If you cancel more than 24 hours in advance the system will apply your payment to a future session. (For Group class memberships, this means you can sign up for another group class within your membership 60-day window. For Private sessions, this means we can apply your payment to a future private session, but you will need to submit another Private Session request first.) You can cancel/reschedule via your account profile login/password here on our website www.encore-pilates.com or via the Fit By Wix app, if you usually use that to schedule your sessions.
Your 60-day membership window begins on the date of purchase/registration for whatever membership option you choose. Your membership will AUTOMATICALLY RENEW every 60-days unless you cancel/change it in your account profile.
You can request to buy additional Group Classes anytime during your 60-day Gold, Silver, or Bronze membership period. These additional classes are billed separately, but will be at the same rate as your current membership. If you would like extra classes added to your membership option, email Shannon@encore-pilates.com to let her know how many you need. A credit card is required for this request.
Your credit card is charged for your Gold, Silver or Bronze Group Class Membership every 60 days, unless you cancel beforehand. You can update/cancel your membership via your account profile anytime.
In your member account profile. You can also find purchase date and previous booking history.
In your membership account profile you can cancel your current plan before it automatically renews and sign up for a different one any time.
Your Group Class Membership classes are "use it or lose it" each 60-days. There are no make-ups or carry-over classes. However, you can take extra classes before you leave or extra when you return from your trip, depending on your timing. Additionally, if you have the Gold or Silver plan, you have full access to streaming the entire video library where there are more than 25 classes from which to choose, including Pilates Mat, Fascia, and Optimal Performance Techniques!
Yes! Just speak directly to Shannon and she will set up your account for that.
You can log-in to your GROUP CLASS ( Gold or Silver) MEMBERSHIP account on our website www.encore-pilates.com (or the Fit by Wix app) and view the videos there or bluetooth them to your larger TV screen.
